How Our A.I.M. Process Works…

At Orkin, we use an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach, which we call A.I.M., to help prevent pest activity before it occurs and reduce dependency on chemical treatments. The A.I.M. process is not a one-time event. It’s an ongoing cycle of three critical activities that happen at every service visit.

A Comprehensive Inspection

Each and every Orkin service visit is about discovery. We start with a comprehensive inspection of your property to identify and evaluate what makes your business unique, what sanitation issues or structural conditions could attract pests, why you have ants on some floors but not on others — anything that points to how pests can get in or why they might want to. Then, The Orkin Man will consider your building type, geography, climate, soil properties and any conditions conducive to pest activity.

The Right Treatment For Your Needs

One-size-fits-all pest management solutions are simply not effective. Based on our inspection findings, we work with you to develop a custom Precision Protection™ program that suits your specific needs. We emphasize proactive techniques, such as physical exclusion, sanitation and non-chemical treatment options to help prevent pests before they become an issue. You will receive personalized advice on how to ensure your cleaning and maintenance efforts reduce pest “hot spots.” Then, if a product is needed, your Orkin Commercial Pest Specialist will select the most effective treatment with the least impact on the environment. Using the latest tools and technology, he will address the source of your pest problem and implement control measures to make sure it is properly addressed.

Ongoing Protection

Consistency and communication are essential to the success of your business. It’s no different with pest control. Our Commercial Pest Specialists are on the clock year-round to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of your service. Through regular inspections, your Orkin Man will monitor whether the treatments he implemented are the best fit for your situation. He’ll check for signs of pest activity and look for any new conditions conducive to pest activity that may have surfaced since his last visit. On top of that, he’ll document all services performed, pest activity and any other recommendations. Because effective pest control doesn’t just start with science — it depends on it, day in and day out.
